At YourBreast, we understand that it can sometimes be challenging for patients to visualise what their post Breast Augmentation result will be. Though you can view countless before and after photos, talk with friends that have had a similar procedure and even look through magazines of surgically enhanced celebrities, every person is unique and Breast Augmentation is very individualised. The only way to get a true indication of your post Breast Augmentation result is through the use of Vectra 3D imaging.
Using multiple cameras, the Vectra machine takes a number of pictures simultaneously from several different points of view. This is then used to build the three dimensional virtual model of the subject.
On the day of your initial consultation, just prior to meeting with your surgeon, our photographer will meet with you and take your 2D and 3D photos. The photos will be uploaded onto our system, ready for your consultation with the surgeon. During your initial consultation, your surgeon will explain the various breast augmentation options available to you including size of implant, position of implant and implant type. An assessment of you breasts will also provide you with valuable information required to make the right decisions about your surgery. From the information gathered, your surgeon will then manipulate the 3D image taken to show you a likely post-operative result.
The software allows the surgeon to apply simulation tools that change the size, shape and position of your breasts to achieve the desired appearance. The software allows the surgeon to choose from the actual range or brand of implants they will use, so the simulations will be based on actual implants used. One of the most impressive features of the Vectra 3D imaging system is its powerful viewing tools. You will be able to view images side by side, (ie actual image next to simulated image or even actual image next to several simulated images) for a comprehensive view point. You will also be able to rotate the images to see the results from all different angles, whether it be side on, frontal or even if you were laying down. Another notable viewing function is the overlay view. This view shows the actual 3-D image overlayed with the simulated image, giving you a great perspective and contrast to your pre-operative and post-operative result. Once you are satisfied with the image result, your doctor will develop a surgical plan based on the changes you have made.
Though the simulation is based on scientific measurements and actual implants, the resulting image should be used as a guide only. It is not meant to be an exact of your post-operative result. The surgeon will discuss the images with you and with their many years of experience, be able to advise if any shortcomings. The surgeons will also use the 3D images as a reference in theatre when performing the Breast Augmentation surgery. So, though it is not an exact replica of your post-operative result, it is by far the most accurate simulation and guide for your post-surgical breast augmentation.
